District Safety Initiatives
The Lehighton Area School District is committed to continuously enhancing the safety and security of our students, staff, and visitors. Through a series of ongoing, multi-year initiatives, the District is proactively investing in infrastructure and systems designed to create a safe and secure learning environment.
Beginning in the 2024–2025 school year, the District launched a multi-year camera upgrade project. This initiative focuses on gradually replacing and upgrading existing cameras with modern, high-quality systems to improve visibility and monitoring across all school buildings and campus areas.
During the 2025–2026 school year, the District further strengthened campus safety by installing protective bollards in key areas throughout the campus. These barriers are designed to help safeguard students, staff, and visitors by controlling vehicle access and enhancing perimeter security.
In addition, the District completed a full upgrade of the intercom system across all schools. This improvement enhances communication capabilities, ensuring that important announcements and emergency information can be delivered quickly and clearly throughout each building.
Lastly, the District implemented Raptor Emergency Management one-touch notification to notify emergency services, in the event of an emergency.
Through these ongoing efforts, the Lehighton Area School District remains dedicated to providing a safe, secure, and supportive environment where students can learn and grow.
