Safety and Security
Welcome to our School Safety and Security page. Ensuring a safe, secure, and supportive learning environment for all students and staff is one of our district’s highest priorities. We recognize that students learn best when they feel safe—physically, emotionally, and socially—and we are committed to maintaining schools where everyone can focus on growth, learning, and success.
Our district takes a proactive and comprehensive approach to school safety. This includes ongoing collaboration with local law enforcement and emergency responders, regular review and enhancement of safety protocols, and the implementation of preventative measures designed to address potential risks before they arise. We continually evaluate our practices to align with current best practices and state guidance.
A key component of our safety efforts is the presence of school police officers and school security officers. These trained professionals play an important role in maintaining a secure environment, building positive relationships with students, and serving as a visible and approachable resource within our schools. Their presence helps foster trust, promote safety awareness, and ensure a rapid response in the event of an emergency.
In addition to personnel, our district implements a variety of safety initiatives. We also emphasize the importance of communication and encourage students, staff, and families to report concerns so that we can respond quickly and effectively.
School safety is a shared responsibility. By working together as a community, we can create and sustain a safe environment where every student feels protected, valued, and ready to learn.
