Welcome to the Lehighton Area School District Curriculum Office!

Our mission is to provide high-quality, rigorous, and engaging educational experiences for all students. At the heart of this mission is a well-designed, continuously improving curriculum that ensures each student is prepared for success in both academics and life beyond school.

The curriculum in our district follows a dynamic cycle of review, revision, and refinement. This cycle ensures that our instructional materials and teaching strategies are aligned with current standards, educational best practices, and the evolving needs of our diverse student population.

To support effective teaching and learning, we use curriculum maps that provide a clear and consistent framework for educators. These maps outline the scope and sequence of content, skills, and assessments at each grade level, ensuring that all students have access to a comprehensive and cohesive educational experience. The curriculum maps serve as valuable resources for teachers, guiding instruction and helping to ensure that all learners are meeting critical learning milestones throughout the school year.

​As part of our commitment to fostering strong partnerships between home and school,  we have started a biyearly newsletter Stronger Together: Family & Curriculum Connections​ t​hat is designed to provide families with updates on curriculum initiatives, highlight important milestones, and share helpful resources that can support learning at home. Through this newsletter, we aim to keep you informed and engaged in your child’s educational journey, reinforcing the important role families play in creating a positive, collaborative learning environment.
